In the last few days before they were due to set sail however, Ana had a reoccurrence of the chest infection that she had suffered from, before surgery on her lung to remove a benign tumour the previous year.
Scans showed a further tumour and Ana underwent emergency surgery to remove it, however this meant that they had to cancel their cruise.
Thankfully Sergio and Ana had purchased Fit 2 Trip cancellation insurance, declaring Ana’s prior surgery and medical condition when they bought the policy. This allowed them to reclaim the cost of the cruise and the excursions that they had already paid for and put it towards a new cruise, which they took when Ana had fully recovered.
